Certification 101 Boot Camp
The Marion Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) is proud to partner with the Ohio Minority Business Development Division (MBAC), to offer education and resource opportunities to the Marion Community. The Mission of MACC is to focus on the retention and expansion of Marion County businesses through member support, public policy and advocacy, and community planning and development. In 2024, our focus is to continue to offer, relevant programming to our over 600 members. We are able to do this through feedback provided to our office. We are listening!
Goals of MBAC...below is a short description provided by the Ohio Department of Development.
Development supports the growth and sustainability of small, minority, and disadvantaged businesses in Ohio. Supporting these businesses means providing them with technical and professional assistance, access to capital and bonding, and connection to business opportunities through the MBAC. The Division leverages these resources to support achievement of the state's 15% Minority Business Enterprise set-aside requirement.
The Division works with entrepreneurs and emerging business enterprises to help them achieve scale and market success. The overarching goal is to help small, minority, and disadvantaged businesses contribute to job creation and economic growth in Ohio.
The Chamber and MBAC are pleased to announce the December 4, 2024 Certification 101 Boot camp topics:
1. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)
2. Encouraging Diversity Growth & Equity (EDGE) 3. Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
4. Veteran-Friendly Business Enterprise (VFBE)
The boot camp will be held at MACC in the Garden Room from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Feel free to share the boot camps with others in your network that may be interested. The spots will fill up quickly, as the boot camps will be available to others in surrounding counties.
