Experience China with the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce as we host a nine day, all-inclusive trip.  Travelers will visit four of China's leading cities - Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai - to see the natural beauty, culture and traditions of a country home to 1.3 billion people. 

The tour is open to all Chamber members, their families and friends, as well as the general public.  It is an all-inclusive trip which includes:

    -  4 and 5 star Hotel Accommodations
    -  Three Meals Per Day
    -  All Tour Fees
    -  All In-Country Transportation
    -  Experienced English-speaking Tour Guides

$2,499 Per Person for Chamber Members & Guests
$2,749 Per Person for Non-Members  
Includes all taxes & fees; does not include insurance or mandatory Chinese VISA
Based on double occupancy, an additional charge of $500 will apply for single occupancy.

Trip Itinerary (Subject to Change);

Day 1 (October 25) JFK/Beijing
Your adventure begins at JFK International Airport as you board your afternoon flight on China Air’s wide cabin jetliner to Beijing.  You’ll be flying trans-Pacific, crossing the International Dateline.

Day 2 (October 26) Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China and home to the 2008 Summer Olympics. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport and escorted to your 5-star hotel after dinner.

Day 3 (October 27) Beijing Tour
Visit the Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest. Later, sightseeing includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors, and the Summer Palace, known for the Long Corridor with its painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 4 (October 28) Beijing & The Great Wall
Today starts with a tour bus excursion to one of the great wonders of the world: The Great Wall of China. 4,000 miles long and 2,000 years old, The Great Wall is said to be the only man-made structure visible to the naked eye from the moon. Later you’ll visit the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors' Tombs fully excavated and open for exploration. Finish the evening enjoying a fabulous Beijing roast duck dinner.

Day 5 (October 29) Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning begins with a China Eastern flight to Shanghai, where you’ll then depart for a tour bus trip to Suzhou known for its beautiful canals, gardens and bridges. Afternoon sightseeing includes the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with a 1,000 year old history. Your dinner will feature a traditional Chinese music performance.

Day 6 (October 30) Suzhou/Hangzhou
Today you will journey to Hangzhou, capital city of the Zhejiang Province and one of the wealthiest regions in China for a visit to the Economic Development Zone. In the afternoon you will visit the centuries-old Lingyin Temple, with a 64.3 foot-high camphor wood-carved Buddha.

Day 7 (October 31) Hangzhou/Shanghai
Enjoy a morning boat cruise on West Lake with a relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. After lunch, transfer to Shanghai with an afternoon tour bus trip.

Day 8 (November 1) Shanghai
Today includes sightseeing in China’s most cosmopolitan city. Explore the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over-arching trees. You will also visit The Bund, Shanghai’s magnificent riverfront park with rich history and architecture. Complete your day with a business visit to the Pudong Economic Development Zone.

Day 9 (November 2) Shanghai/Beijing/JFK
After a morning flight, spend your final hours in China visiting Beijing on your own before an afternoon flight on China Air bound for JFK where you will arrive only 30 minutes later on the same day!
