The Marion PEP Club (Parks Enhancement Project) is comprised of community members that have a desire to work with the Marion City Parks Department to create safer play environments that address physical, social and emotional needs allowing people of all abilities to develop their skills. 

The group began in the 2018 Leadership Marion! Program of the Marion Area Chamber.  PEP established a501c3 status and have a working board that has a passion for helping to enhance the Marion City Park system and strive to make Marion a more desirable place to live, work and play. 

Current Project:
The recently removed "Project Playground" at McKinley Park was constructed in 1993, with over 100 community members participating in the build. The PEP Club understands the sadness at the loss of this playground and will honor the commitment of those volunteers and sponsors by constructing a donor board using new and previous materials from Project Playground.

Their goal for the playground at McKinley Park, newly named Marion Rotary Centennial Playground, is to be accessible and enjoyable to EVERYONE in Marion and surrounding counties. This means people of all ages, abilities, and economic status can enjoy playing outside together.

Many pieces they have chosen will accommodate wheelchairs and walkers alike. This allows not only children who rely on this equipment for mobility, but also adults who require accommodations so they can accompany their children at play.
